COLORFULLY CHIC: ICE BLUE

On this installment of Colorfully Chic, I decided to post about a color that I'm starting to see pop up everywhere. If I could my least favorite color, I would pick light blue. I've never really liked the color and used to find it very boring. Now with pastels ruling this upcoming Spring, I'm started to see a lot of pieces in the gorgeous color. Now I love how opulent and fresh the color looks. I've found some pretty, powder blue things below:

COLORFULLY CHIC: COBALT BLUE

For the third installment of Colorfully Chic, I chose a color that I think everyone loves, cobalt blue. The color blue invokes a feeling of calm and serenity. Other than navy, one of my favorite shades of blue is cobalt. It is so striking and bold which sets it apart from pretty much any other shade of the hue. Like emerald, cobalt looks great on all skin tones. Check out some of my favorite cobalt pieces below:

COLORFULLY CHIC: EMERALD

I love the color green. Although I don't own much green clothing, the few pieces I do own are in my favorite shade of green, emerald. The color is gorgeous and looks great on every skin tone. I love to see a redhead in the hue. I've selected some of my favorite emerald finds below:

MORNING CHILL

It's becoming increasingly cooler in the mornings. I guess I need to suck it up and come to terms with the fact that Summer is almost over and Fall is coming. This transition always requires creative layering.  I love the sweater, floral skirt combo shown above. It would be the perfect option for wearing a summer dress into Fall. Just throw on a light sweater and a skinny belt and you're set. When it warms up, ditch the sweater.

How do you transition from Summer to Fall?

NYFW: GET THE LOOK // TRINA TURK

Look 1 // Sweater, Skirt, Loafers
Look 2 // Jumpsuit, Hat, Shoes
Look 3 // Dress, Jacket, Heels

Even though New York Fashion Week is an exciting time for everyone to see what's to come next Spring/Summer, for most of us, it's really just a way to tease us. The great thing about seeing all the shows and looks is that you can find tons of inspiration. Better yet, many stores are practically giving summer clothing away with their "end of the season" sales.

I decided to take looks from my favorite shows and presentations and show how to get the look...right now. Because patience is a virtue, but the early bird gets the worm. Or whatever.

CREAM

I've had so much on my plate the last few weeks. I wish I could just declutter my brain for a second. For some reason looking at these clean images of cream and white are inspiring me right now. What inspires me when you are feeling overwhelmed?

POOL DAYS

July is flying by but there is still time left to hit the pool before summer ends. Here are my favorites for a great pool day.

THE PENCIL

I've written about pencil skirts so many times on this blog that I have lost count. But, I can't help it. A great pencil skirt is a staple that every woman should have in her closet. I of course have the neutral black, navy, and gray pencil skirts in my closet. However, after building a great foundation of pencil skirts, I love to find pencil skirts with unexpected details. I am drawn to great prints and bright colors. I always purchased the skirts for work but now I love to wear them on the weekends with a comfy t-shirt and sandals.

FIRECRACKER

Ever since I purchased this skirt in neon yellow last week on major sale, it seems that every picture I've come across has hints of the color. These are just some of the pictures I've found.

What's been inspiring you lately?
