Other than gray, nude is my favorite neutral. I love how chic the color looks and how well it pairs with every other color. I especially love neon and nude together.

THE PENCIL

 

I've written about pencil skirts so many times on this blog that I have lost count. But, I can't help it. A great pencil skirt is a staple that every woman should have in her closet. I of course have the neutral black, navy, and gray pencil skirts in my closet. However, after building a great foundation of pencil skirts, I love to find pencil skirts with unexpected details. I am drawn to great prints and bright colors. I always purchased the skirts for work but now I love to wear them on the weekends with a comfy t-shirt and sandals.

I love sheath dresses. They are easy to throw on to wear to work or to go out. The cut is flattering and works on so many different figures. With its simple shape, you can really play around with patterns and colors. This Dorothy Perkins lemon stripe dress is a great pick at only $44! The yellow and white stripes are perfect for spring.

It seems like it's been raining for weeks here. I know I am being dramatic but I could really use some sunshine in my neck of the woods. Sunny days are ahead. Until then, here are some of my picks in my favorite sunny hues.

I'm a big fan of blazers. Blazers are definitely a staple for work and for play. Sometimes it's fun to venture out and try new silhouettes. One jacket I love to wear is the moto jacket. I love this one from Zara. The mint color is perfect for spring and the print is great too. This mint pencil skirt is the perfect compliment. Pair it with this jacket and you have a fabulous spin on the work suit. 

WORK TO WEEKEND: PATTERNED PANTS

Patterned anything is in this Spring. I personally can't wait to get my hands on some patterned trousers that I can wear to work or even out for a fun date night. If you are debating about wearing patterned pants to work, try sticking with traditional colors like blue and white. These Zara trousers have a gorgeous pattern yet aren't too "busy." You can also try a great geometric pattern like these, or for a more conservative workplace, you can go monochromatic with a patterned texture instead. 

THE SHORT SUIT

I love a great short suit. I even wrote about them before (here). But, I am really loving the new patterned short suits that I've seen around lately. Many people would shy away from wearing one print head to toe. That's why these short suits are so perfect. Enough to make a statement but not so much that it becomes overkill.
