COLORFULLY CHIC: COBALT BLUE

For the third installment of Colorfully Chic, I chose a color that I think everyone loves, cobalt blue. The color blue invokes a feeling of calm and serenity. Other than navy, one of my favorite shades of blue is cobalt. It is so striking and bold which sets it apart from pretty much any other shade of the hue. Like emerald, cobalt looks great on all skin tones. Check out some of my favorite cobalt pieces below:

Still here trying to get my home work space together. My search has intensified now that I have a new work office. I usually go for bright accessories like neon pens and post-its. However, I have recently found myself drawn to white office accessories. I'm a firm believer that a cluttered space creates a cluttered mind. So, it only makes sense that I am most productive in a light, airy, clean office. A white color palette creates just that feeling. I recently found some of the pieces above during my search. How awesome is that Jonathan Adler match holder? I love to have a great candle lit while I work and I often neglect how I store my matches.

I've had so much on my plate the last few weeks. I wish I could just declutter my brain for a second. For some reason looking at these clean images of cream and white are inspiring me right now. What inspires me when you are feeling overwhelmed?

Whatever men can wear, women can wear better. That goes for foulard print. I expect to see even more of this print this fall. I even have a little in my closet (this skirt, for example). I've seen it in almost every color but I love it with navy, red, and emerald tones.

I'm so excited that July 4th is this Thursday. We are grilling out with friends on the 4th and I've pretty much left the rest of the long weekend open for spending time with friends and family. I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday!

It's time for Spring Cleaning. A new season always inspires me to change up my space. I'm pretty sure I get that from my mommy. I don't want to do anything too drastic. A set of new pillows will do. I love these pillows from Arianna Belle. I think I love the leopard velvet pillow paired with the spring floral pillow. Mixing prints are just as perfect for your home as they are for your wardrobe.

I'm a girl who loves her gold. I am also a girl with a very cluttered apartment right now. Luckily warm weather seems to bring motivation with it and I'm ready to Spring clean. I am also ready to start decorating again. I always decorate it spurts which leaves my place unfinished. The first thing I want to complete is a designated office area. I have started but need to add a few things before it really feels done. Office accessories are the best way to bring it all together. As much as I love color, nothing feels fresher or cleaner than a white office with gold office supplies. First, I will start with this desk. It's hard not to pull the trigger. It is a dead ringer for the Westelm Parsons Desk but for 1/4 of the price. 

JUNE AMBROSE + THE COVETEUR

I absolutely love June Ambrose. I can't remember when I first heard about her, but after watching her show, "Styled By June" and following her religiously on Instagram, I am smitten with her! Not only is she uber stylish, she's also a mommy to two youngins. Also, if you aren't following her on IG, you should just for the meals she whips up! I'm so glad The Coveteur decided to interview her and tour her fabulous closet.

DEAR WEEKEND

So no pics of my weekend here. Just pics of gorgeous, unmade beds. "Why," you ask. A disheveled bed is the easiest way to tell when I'm under the weather. This weekend I was getting over the cold I had on NYE and my wisdom teeth also decided to join the party. It seriously is time for me to bite the bullet (pun intended), and see a dentist. Ugh.

2012 has flown by. As I was packing to go home for Christmas, I wondered to myself, "How did Christmas sneak up on me?" Although I'm currently fighting off a horrible cold, I refuse to let it ruin my NYE plans. I'm looking forward to a healthy and happy 2013.
