{ red velvet waffles }

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. But isn't it everybody's?!? Any breakfast meal isn't complete without WAFFLES! What is it about waffles? I know people who say they hate pancakes but love waffles. Aren't they the same thing just different shapes? In the south, there's only 2 ways to improve upon one of your favorite dishes: (1) deep fry it or (2) find a way to make a red velvet version. I decided on the latter. I found this great recipe from Just a Pinch. Red velvet waffles = magical.

Recipe

2 c. all purpose flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
6 t. sugar
4 t. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. sour cream
2 t. red food coloring
4 t. vanilla

Directions

Combine dry ingredients. Set aside. In a separate bowl add remaining ingredients. Add wet ingredients into dry, combine.

Heat waffle iron, spray with cooking spray, using 1/3 c. batter, pour into iron. Eat!

xoxo,

Marche'
